TopTravelSites.com operates out of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and soon the United Kingdom, but we really call 'the web' our home. We are a collection of websites that promote travel around the world, from independent travel operators to large resorts. We also list SPECIALIST retail travel agents with knowledge, experience and expertise about destinations or specialist activities that can help take the worry out of travel planning.

TopTravelSites.com was started by 'The Nomad', a wanderer with over 25 years in the travel industry and over 40 years of international travel under his belt. He was joined by Bruce who has lived all over the world, from England to Zambia, South Africa, Singapore and now Canada. Bruce is a retired commercial helicopter pilot with over 8000 hours of flying time, but he has now settled down to promote travel on the ground.

The Nomad felt it was time to offer a website for travellers that was simple, easy to use and uncluttered. He felt that very few of the thousands of travel websites out there offered him what he was looking for - a place to easily find great travel and a way to deal DIRECT with the travel providers when and how he wanted to.

The Nomad had several issues with the large travel sites that were out there:

• When looking for travel on the 'big' travel sites, only the 'big' travel operators with large budgets seemed be prominent.
• The sites were difficult to navigate and cluttered with too much 'advertising'. The 'free' sites seemed more worried about selling ad space than marketing their travel operators.
• The small and unique travel operators (b&b's, small tour companies, small cruise lines) that The Nomad loved so much were hard to find. And when he did find them he had to book through the travel site instead of dealing DIRECTLY with the travel operator

These thoughts led The Nomad to create a website that he felt helped travellers and the travel industry find each other
Having been in the travel industry for 25 years, The Nomad knew he wanted a website that:

• helped the small travel operators compete with the big companies by making marketing and promotion affordable for everyone
• allowed travellers to easily find what they were looking for and deal DIRECT with the travel providers, hence giving a more personal travel experience
• gave travellers more ideas and choice than the current offerings out there

TopTravelSites.com strives to be a better travel site by providing a place where travellers and travel providers can meet.
The site is simple to navigate, and when you find something you like you click on the link and go DIRECTLY to the travel providers website. After all, who better to provide all the information and sell their products than those who created it.
